Denial Management
Denial Management was originally a tennet in substance abuse treatment programs, but the process of discovering and acknowledging ways that may be holding you back from successful rehabilitation can apply to any sort of negative behavior. Denial can be used to avoid acknowledging participation in substance abuse, domestic violence (either as a victim or perpetrator), co-dependency, even negative personality traits, for a few examples. As those in AA can testify, identifying and acknowledging the problem is the first step to solving that problem.
What is required to successfully complete the course and receive the certificate of completion is honest introspection, a willingness to be open and a desire to change. There are 2 parts to this curriculum, with students responding the first portion, using the supplied SASE, receiving feedback and then proceeding to the second portion of the course. Each student's work is individually reviewed and considered by LSA's review team, with responses and comments specifically tailored to that student.
